CLOSING SOON FOR WINTER

We will be closing soon for the winter. Our last day open this year will be Sunday 4th November 2018 and we aim to re-open end Feb/early March 2019.

Brilliant Summer for British Butterflys

  We weren't the only ones to enjoy the long hot British summer this year.  After several years of dismal decline, butterflies such as peacocks, meadow browns and small toroiseshells enjoyed a boom - with sudden and dramatic increases in numbers. Peacocks in particular were seen in nearly 70% more British gardens than last year. Although there was a huge increase in numbers of some species, there were fewer reported sightings of the red admiral and the holly blue - whose numbers...
